THE PARTHENON

The Parthenon is a timeless wonder partly because it is 2,400 years old, maybe more. The other reason it is a timeless wonder is because it is strong enough to survive weather, an explosives attack, and pollution*. The Parthenon is as beautiful to us** as it was to the ancient greeks, though back then it was whole.

*It is very slowly perishing from pollution.

**It may not be beautiful to everyone, but to art people, and people who study ancient stuff, this maybe is true.
