Astronomy is the study of stuff in space like stars, planets, comets, nebulae, star clusters and galaxies. There is a lot of stuff in space that scientist don't know anything about yet.
If I am watching you go in to a Black Hole I will see you go faster and faster and faster as you move slower to it. Then you will go slower and slower and slower. You will turn red when you cross the event horizon also called the point of no return. Then you will disappear.
Supernova is when a star blows up at the end of their life cycle.
Stars blow up in lays burning each gas off at a time, shooting the burning gases out in to space and then core collapses. A black hole is caused when a star's core collapses too quickly for light to escape. A black hole, nothing, not even light, can escape from one.
We live in the Milky Way.
Silly way to remember the order of the planets:
My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas
The Sun is by far the largest object in the solar system. The Sun is a "ordinary" star made of bubbling hot gas - 70% hydrogen, 28% helium 2% metals. Every 11 years the sun's magnetic poles switch places.
Day - How long it takes a planet to obit on it's own axis
Year - How long it takes a planet to go around the sun.
Pull of the moon causes the tides. Every planet that has a moon has tides. Everything on earth raise 3 cm @ high tide but you don't feel it.
Earth might have three more moons - Avalon, Cruithne and 2002AA39 which might just be an asteroid.
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun and really hot.
Mars is red because of iron oxide rust, has craters larger than Texas, has two moons shaped like potatoes.
Jupiter is larger than all the other planets together is a large ball of gas (hydrogen with a little helium) and has 67 moons.
Saturn's rings are made of ice and full of moons.
Uranus is an ice giant and you'd need 22 years in a spaceship to get there from here.
Neptune has at least 13 moons and diamonds rain from the sky and the planet smells like farts.
Pluto isn't a planet anymore. It obits with Charon which might be a moon for Pluto or a dwarf planet or the don't know.
When you look at the stars and see colors you can tell if the star is hot (Blue and White) or cold (Yellow and Red.) Also you can tell what the stars is made up off.
Red color = Hydrogen
Blue = dust
Purple = both

The Kidlet did her first web-based seminar at www.superchargedscience.com and came away with a worry about black holes.
I didn't know that Earth might have more moons! That's crazy!
yep.
